| Blenheim
currently has about 150 chickens, the breeds range from Bantams to
Rhode Island Reds. |
Our
primary beef cattle are the wonderful Herford breed. These lovely ladies
are not for meat, they are assigned to growing the herd. |
Finnsheep
and Icelandic sheep roam freely. Morten with a Finnish ram. |
Our
heritage pigs are a mix of Tamworths, Birkshires, and Gloucester
Old Spot. |

|
We
promote animal welfare and proper meat production processes
using a pasture-based system that allows our animals to roam
freely in the natural environment that our land provides. This
will allow our animals to eat nutritious grasses and other
plants that are easily digestable. This
pasture-based method will not only improve the welfare of our
farm animals but will also reduce environemental damage to
the land. |
Our
pasture-raised, heritage breed farm animals will also yield better
quality meat and eggs that are more flavorful and nutritious
than foods produced on factory farms.
At Blenheim Hill, we firmly believe that we should eat less but better
quality meat that is raised following sustainable livestock farming practices. |
